5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR WEDDING

May 11, 2021

Wedding planning is ALOT budgeting for your dream day can be overwhelming. Here are 5 tips to think about early on in your wedding planning process to help you from going over budget!

  1. Prioritize your wish list

If you can go all out on three things for your wedding, what would they be? What are aspects of your wedding you don’t care about as much? This will help you identify where to allocate funds. If you know you don’t care what your centerpieces look like – cut costs there. LOVE cake?! – budget more funds for this.

2. Consider a Friday wedding

Lots of venues and vendors offer discounts if you get married on a Friday. Not only does this save you money but it gives you all weekend to celebrate!!

3. Double duty florals

Talk to your florist about ways you can transform bouquets into your decor. A popular option I’ve seen repeatedly is getting some vases for the head tables and guest tables and simply placing bouquets and ceremony florals into vases to serve as reception decorations!

4. Find your perfect venue

Finding a venue that you love the look of and can be the home for your entire wedding day will end up saving you big bucks. Kris and I are getting married on a lake in northern mn – it’s so beautiful that we’re saving $100s of dollars on decorations. We love our venue so much we don’t feel the need to have ceremony decorations. When I work with clients that have their entire wedding day at one venue, they also save a lot of money and a lot of time stressing, you only have to pay one person, you don’t have to worry about transportation or all the times you need to be in and out of places.

5. Scale back save the dates and invitations

Cut unnecessary spending with save the dates and invitations. You don’t need the fancy lined envelopes – they are going in the garbage anyway. Postcard RSVPs are also a new cool thing – no envelopes needed!
